NBflageditedsmallerMala is a Mi'kmaq word that means "where I'm from". In a dynamic multimedia presentation, the facade of the Legislature comes to life in Mala, an evocative and vibrant journey through our collective identity.  Shaped by the winds of history and rocked by the waves of memory, Mala reaffirms our shared histories, reveals the richness of our spirit and celebrate our successes and our ingenuity. MALA is told in six sections: Winds, Skies, Lands, Seas, Territories and Identities. Each section has its own stylistic and storytelling approach, using a combination of photography, illustration, music and narration to bring the facade of the Legislature to life.

Dialogue NB is presenting MALA in hopes of fostering mutual understanding, respect, and pride in our province's rich linguistic and cultural heritage.

Mala is presented at dusk from June 21st to July 1st, July 6-8, 13-15, 20-22, 27-29 and August 3-7.

MALA was made possible through to the support of Government of Canada through the Canada 150 fund, the Province of New Brunswick, through the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, as well as the generous contributions of its presenting partner, NB Power and its major partners, the City of Fredericton, Grey Rocks Casino and the Madawaska Maliseet Economic Development Corporation.
