Léo-Paul Charest
Léo-Paul Charest is a teacher by training and profession. He taught at schools in the Edmundston area for thirteen years before working as a science curriculum consultant and serving as the deputy director of academics at the New Brunswick Department of Education . He later became the principal at École Sainte-Anne in Fredericton and served as the national official languages coordinator for the Council of Ministers of Education in Toronto. After returning from Ontario, he became the associate director general of the Grand-Sault School District, and later, director of education and director general of the Grand-Sault and Campbellton School Districts. In 2001, he moved to the Francophonie and Official Languages Branch within the Department of Intergovernmental Affairs, where he served until his retirement in April 2008. He currently works as a part-time consultant. He has leads various initiatives in Canada and abroad.
