Paul-Émile Chiasson

bio_emilePaul-Émile Chiasson is from Antigonish in Nova Scotia. He grew up in an Acadian Francophone family while attending the local English Schools. He graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University with a BA Honours in Canadian History and later a BE.d. He followed his dream to further his studies in French by attending Laval University and completing a BA in French. This led him to complete an MA and eventually his doctoral studies at the Université de Franche-Comté, Besançon, France. Prior to becoming Coordinator of French Second Language Programs for School District 8, Paul-Emile taught French as a second language (Immersion/Core) in the public school system for approximately 20 years. He has taught in the Teaching English as a Second Language program at UNB Saint John since its inception and has published on topics related to English Second Language and French Second Language teaching. He is presently the Education Coordinator at UNB Saint John. He is married to Catherine (Pike) and they have two children Stéfan and Émilie.
