My Friend - Mon ami(e)

MyFriend-MonamiDialogue New Brunswick sponsors a pen-pal program called My Friend-Mon ami(e) for students from grade one to nine. The program matches classes from the Anglophone and Francophone sectors with one another.  Dialogue New Brunswick organizes the twinning of classes and provides the necessary paper, envelopes and stamps. Students exchange letters, drawings or other and participate in an end-of-year class project regarding their school and their community.

Interested teams twinned through this program also have the opportunity to participate in virtual exchanges which aim to (1) increase the amount of interaction between twinned students and twinned classes; (2) cultivate long-term friendships; and (3) encourage/promote cooperation between twinned students. A virtual exchange can occur through such programs as Wikispaces, Bridgit, Photostory, etc. Participating teams will be free to employ one or more means of virtual communication.

Teams that wish to participate in the optional Friends Meeting Friends! field trip will be asked to apply no later than mid-January. Friends Meeting Friends! is an opportunity for correspondents to enjoy educational, motivating, unforgettable and interactive experiences in their second language during a linguistic and cultural encounter outside the classroom.

A registration form can found here .

Please return completed forms to Dialogue New Brunswick by the end of September. Twinning of classes will begin in mid-October.
