Community Leader – Moncef Lakouas

Moncef Lakouas came to Canada as an international student. He holds a Baccalaureate in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the Faculty of Administration of the Université de Moncton and is in the process of starting his second Baccalaureate in Accounting at the same faculty. He is presently the President of the Federation of Students and Students of the University of Moncton Campus, FÉÉCUM.

He is passionate about the province’s youth and immigration development and as such sits on the Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Economic Council as Youth Representative, on the Multicultural Council of New Brunswick as Senior Vice President, and at CAFI as Chairman of the Board. His community involvement during his studies earned him a nomination for the Top 50 Emerging Leaders in Atlantic Canada by 21Inc in 2013, the Top 21 New Brunswickers by the same organization in 2014, and a Para-Academic Merit Scholarship. His free time is reserved for his passion of nature, reading and horse riding.

Social cohesion: Dieppe Dialogue Committee unveils its strategy

The pilot Dialogue Committee decided to focus its social cohesion strategy on three main areas: 1) encouraging Dieppe residents to make their civic voices heard; 2) boosting young people’s confidence in the future; and 3) fostering international students’ integration within the community.
