Sophie Malenfant joined the Dialogue NB team on July 15, 2019.
After 10 years at home with her family, Sophie decided to become a volunteer and help MAGMA when a group of Syrian refugees moved to Canada in 2016. From there, Sophie gained experience as an Executive board member, as secretary-treasurer of SWESDI (Syrian Women’s Economic & Social Development Initiative). In this role, she learned how to manage a non profit organization and put forth programs that encourage the growth of economic and social development in the community.
As a recent graduate from NBCC Moncton in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Sophie has acquired and refreshed her skills in accounting & finance, business management, guest satisfaction and event planning. These acquired abilities are useful when organizing various events held for Dialogue NB’s programs that they host every year.
Sophie is inspired to be able to use her skills to work towards social cohesion in NB!
